NWE WellReport™ · Reporting

Morning report software that sends the 5 AM package itself.

The morning email is the directional drilling company's daily billboard — the one document the whole operation reads before the day starts. NWE WellReport assembles the whole package from the run data: a polished, branded morning email, an automatic subject line, the daily drilling report, the BHA report, daily revenue, and the survey files attached — addressed to the job's stored distribution list.

The 5 AM problem

The most-read email in the company is built by hand, half asleep.

Before 6 AM, every morning, the directional driller rebuilds the same email from three different systems.

The standard workflow is a Word template, filled in by copy and paste: the DD pair, the operations, the footage, the surveys from one system, the BHA record from another, the costs from a spreadsheet. Then the files get attached — if they are remembered — and the whole thing goes out under a subject line typed from memory. Templates in the field carry typos, plain-text passwords, and last week's numbers with them.

NWE WellReport removes the assembly entirely. The data already exists in the run record; the morning report software simply presents it — branded, accurate, and ready for the directional driller's one human pass: tour notes, the next tour's plan, and final review.

The package

An executive brief, not a template.

Direction B — the executive brief. The morning email is designed the way an engineer or an oil company executive would call professional: a calm navy header carrying the NWE WellReport brand, the day's facts in clean cards, small-caps labels, and the subject line built for the reader — DD Morning Report, job, customer, rig, well, and date, generated automatically.

01 / THE EMAIL

Branded body, automatic subject line.

The email body is generated from the morning report itself — DD pair, current and next-24-hour operations, drilling order, current BHA, 24-hour footage, the 5 AM distance from plan and depth, BHT, daily and total cost, and motors on location — laid out as a professional brief instead of pasted plain text. The subject line follows the field's own format and is written by the system, not remembered at 5 AM.

02 / THE ATTACHMENTS

The files ride along, generated from the same numbers.

The package is the email plus its evidence: the daily drilling report, the per-run BHA Report, and the daily revenue report, with the survey files attached in the formats the office expects. Because every attachment generates from the same record as the email body, the email, the reports, and the invoice can never tell three different stories.

The morning workflow

Review. Add judgment. Send.

01

Run the tour.

Activities, parameters, and surveys are entered once as the work happens, so the report data is complete before the tour ends.

02

The package builds itself.

The morning email, the subject line, and every attachment generate from the run record — nothing is retyped.

03

Add the judgment.

The DD types only what no system knows — tour notes, the next tour's plan — and gives the package a final review. Any auto-filled value can be overridden.

04

Send to the list.

One send to the job's stored distribution list. The whole morning takes about five minutes.

Deliverables

The whole 5 AM package.

One record in. One professional package out.

Everything the distribution list receives is generated from the same run data, so the package is consistent by construction — and every auto-filled field stays a suggestion the DD can override, with one click back to the automatic value.

Where it stands

In founding field testing now.

Working directional drillers are testing it today.NWE WellReport is in founding field testing ahead of its production release. The morning report workflow is part of the daily routine testers run — the package is generated from the same record as the daily drilling report, and founding tester seats are open until October 25.

Honest about the feed.Today, surveys arrive from the exports of the system you already run — including WITS file imports with accept/reject review in the Survey Editor — and that system stays your system of record until NWE WellReport has proven itself on your well. Live EDR/WITS ingestion is a production direction, being built with the production backend. We will not claim it until a real feed is proven.

Common questions

Questions, answered straight.

What is morning report software?

Morning report software produces the drilling operation's morning reporting package — the email the whole operation reads each day — from the previous day's operational data instead of a hand-filled template. In NWE WellReport, the branded email body, the automatic subject line, the daily drilling report, the BHA report, daily revenue, and the survey files are all generated from the run data and sent to a stored distribution list, so the directional driller reviews the package instead of assembling it.

What goes into the NWE WellReport morning email?

The facts the field runs on: the directional drilling pair on tour, current and next-24-hour operations, the drilling order, the current BHA number, 24-hour footage, the 5 AM distance from plan and current depth, bottom-hole temperature, daily and total job cost, and motors on location. Every figure is pulled from the run record the crew already maintains — none of it is retyped into the email.

Does it attach the report files automatically?

Yes. The daily drilling report, the per-run BHA Report, and the daily revenue report generate from the same record as the email body, and the survey files attach from the same survey record — so the email, the attachments, and the end-of-well roll-up always read the same numbers.

Who receives the morning report?

The job's stored distribution list. It is set up once per job and carried forward day to day, so the 5 AM send is one action — no re-typing addresses, no forgotten recipients — and the package goes out branded and consistent every single morning.

Do I still review it before it sends?

Always. The directional driller adds the judgment only a human has — tour notes, the next tour's plan, final review — and can override any auto-filled value, with a one-click way back to the automatic value. The software assembles; the directional driller decides what goes out.
